What is a Cel-Fi unit?

A Cel-Fi unit is a brand of cellular signal booster designed to enhance and improve mobile phone reception in areas with weak or inconsistent cellular signals. You can get a Cel-Fi unit to install into a building (home or business) or you can get a unit for your vehicle (car, truck, caravan etc).

Here’s a more detailed breakdown:

1. Purpose: The primary purpose of a Cel-Fi unit is to amplify weak cellular signals, making it especially useful in areas where building materials obstruct signals, in rural areas far from cell towers, or in other locations where phone reception is poor.

2. Components: A typical Cel-Fi system consists of three main components:
– External Antenna – Pointing in the direction of your closest Phone Tower, an external antenna on a pole (which can vary in height depending of obstructions etc).
– Internal Antenna – Mounted to the internal roof, this is what provides better phone coverage within the house and/or building.
– Cel-Fi Unit – This is mounted somewhere often hidden which processes the External Signal and then passes it through to the Internal Antenna.

3. Technology: Unlike some other signal boosters, Cel-Fi units are smart repeaters. They automatically adjust to changing network conditions, ensuring that they always provide the best possible signal boost without interfering with the cellular network.

4. Carrier-specific: Cel-Fi units are often designed to work with specific mobile carriers (Telstra, Optus and Vodafone). This ensures that they provide the maximum allowable signal boost for that carrier without causing interference.

5. Benefits:
– Improved cellular reception, leading to clearer calls and faster data speeds.
– Reduced dropped calls.
– Extended battery life for mobile devices, as they don’t have to work as hard to maintain a signal.

6. Regulations: In many countries, the use of signal boosters is regulated to prevent interference with cellular networks. Cel-Fi units are designed to comply with these regulations, making them legal to use in many jurisdictions. They are certified for Australian Use.

In summary, a Cel-Fi unit is a sophisticated cellular signal booster that can significantly improve mobile phone reception in areas with poor or inconsistent signals.

The Process
Site Survey
Before installing and ordering your Cel-Fi, we will complete a Site Survey. This can be done remotely or in person depending on your location. We do this to ensure that your Cel-Fi solution is going to be the best for you and that your location. We assess your closest phone tower and review where we can mount all of the Cel-Fi Hardware.
Finalise Order
Upon completion of the Site Survey, we finalise your order which outlines the install process, core parts and if any additional parts that might be required. We require approval on this to proceed.
Equipment Order
Once your order is approved and first payment of the order received, we will proceed with purchasing the additional parts and Cel-Fi Kit.
Installation
Once all parts have been received and your Cel-Fi unit equipment, we will arrange a date for your installation. This unfortunately can be subject to weather.
